Location, location, location: why were Collections underutilized?

Video creators typically work on specific projects - ex. a promotional video for a holiday sale, or an educational video about a particular topic. To speed up users’ workflow, Storyblocks offered collections: bundles of content that were focused on specific themes. Ideally, users would be able to find multiple pieces of content they needed within a collection so they wouldn’t have to search for each one individually.

However, engagement with the collections pages were low: finding them required users to navigate away from search, and look within secondary navigation. The collections pages were also not searchable, so users had to scroll until they found a relevant collection.
